Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to deliver innovative HVAC design solutions for data center clients. You will work with engineers and designers on field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, sizing equipment and preparing construction packages.

You will manage schedule and technical quality, develop process basis, create calculations, and produce design drawings, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to meet client expectations and project budgets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing HVAC systems.
• Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards for HVAC design.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced team with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team and collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design HVAC systems for varied clients including data centers and heavy industrial facilities.
• Develop design criteria for HVAC systems including comfort, temperature/humidity control, and clean room requirements.
• Develop conceptual and final design documents, calculations, P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Layout ductwork based on P&IDs.
• Prepare final design documents with specifications, sequences of operation, piping layouts, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
