Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer specializing in the data center market to lead a multi-disciplinary Building Mechanical team. You will deliver innovative HVAC design solutions, perform field investigations, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

The role involves interfacing with clients and vendors, managing schedules, and ensuring technical quality across challenging projects.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in HVAC design.
Thorough knowledge of codes and standards for HVAC design.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ability to lead a building mechanical team on projects and collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

Layout and design HVAC systems for data centers, EVs, and heavy industrial facilities.
Develop design criteria for HVAC systems including thermal performance and environmental controls.
Develop conceptual and preliminary designs with calculations, P&IDs, and general arrangements.
Layout ductwork systems based on P&IDs.
Develop final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, piping layout, and construction drawings for chilled water and cooling water systems.
Mentor less experienced staff.
Bring curiosity, multitasking, and collaboration to drive big impacts.
