Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to elevate data center projects across the United States. You will design HVAC systems, lead a building mechanical team, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver optimized, compliant designs.

You’ll perform field investigations, prepare calculations and P&IDs, size and select equipment, and develop final design packages. Candidates should have 8+ years in HVAC design, a PE license or ability to obtain, and strong knowledge of codes and

Qualifications

• 8 or more years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
• Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain in 6 months.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical preferred
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems for diverse clients including data centers, EVs, and heavy industrial facilities.
• Development of HVAC design criteria and related calculations, including P&IDs.
• Creation of conceptual and preliminary design documents with sizing and equipment selection.
• Ductwork layout based on P&ID.
• Development of final design documents including specifications and sequences of operation for systems like chilled water and cooling water.
• Coordination with other disciplines.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive design efficiency and quality.
