Job summary

Power Engineering Services, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, seeks a Protection & Control Designer to join our growing team in Converse, TX. You will support the design and delivery of high‑voltage substation projects for utilities, contractors, and developers, contributing from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality solutions, ensuring adherence to IEEE/ANSI standards and project

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in protection and control design for utility substations.
• Experience designing substations ranging from 15kV through 345kV.
• Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and utility design standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive protection and control design packages for high-voltage substations, including single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and BOMs.
• Design auxiliary systems, including station batteries and battery chargers.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and other disciplines to ensure accurate project execution.
• Provide technical support during construction and respond to field questions.
• Deliver quality work while meeting schedules and budgets.
