Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a Protection & Control Designer to join our growing team. You will support the design and delivery of high-voltage substation projects for electric utilities, contractors, and developers, contributing from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in protection and control design for utility substations.
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline is required.
• Experience designing substations ranging from 15kV through 345kV is preferred.
• Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and utility design standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive protection and control design packages for high-voltage substations, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control house layouts, relay panel layouts, and BOMs.
• Design auxiliary systems, including station batteries and battery chargers.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to ensure accurate project execution.
• Provide technical support during construction and respond to field questions.
• Deliver quality work while meeting project schedules and budgets.
