Job summary

Power Engineering Services is seeking a Protection & Control Designer to join our team. You will design high-voltage substation protection and control packages and support projects from concept through construction, collaborating across disciplines to deliver reliable utility solutions.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in protection and control for substations, 15 kV to 345 kV experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and a degree in Engineering Technology or related field.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of protection and control design for utility substations.
• Experience designing substations 15kV through 345kV.
• Working knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control design packages for high-voltage substations (S/L diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control house layouts, BOMs).
• Design auxiliary systems (station batteries, battery chargers).
• Coordinate with engineers and disciplines for accurate project execution.
