Power Engineering Services is seeking an Electrical Designer with a strong background in high-voltage substation design for electric utilities. You will work alongside engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver substation projects from concept through detailed design for utilities, contractors, and developers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years designing 15kV–345kV utility substations.
• Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards for substations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation a plus.
• Independent worker with strong collaboration across teams.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; eager to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D substation design packages for HV substations.
• Collaborate with engineers and design disciplines to produce coordinated design packages.
• Incorporate engineering feedback, redlines, and revisions into deliverables.
• Interpret client specifications, industry codes, and design standards.
• Ensure drawings and documentation comply with company and project standards.
• Maintain organized project files and design documentation throughout the lifecycle.
