Job summary

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a Protection & Control Designer to join our growing team in Converse, TX. You will support high-voltage substation design from concept through detailed engineering and construction support for electric utilities.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of protection and control design experience, an associate degree in engineering technology, and proficiency with AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus) and standard design practices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of protection and control design experience for utility substations.
• Experience designing substations from 15kV through 345kV.
• Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and utility design standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive protection and control design packages for high-voltage substations, including single-line diagrams and schematics.
• Design auxiliary systems such as station batteries and battery chargers.
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure accurate project execution.
• Provide technical support during construction and respond to field questions.
