Job summary

QISG is seeking a Supervising Engineer to oversee detailed design of high voltage substation projects in the United States. You will lead engineers, designers, and support staff to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while complying with industry standards. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and a P.E.

license, with travel up to 10–15%. The ideal candidate will bring extensive HV substation design experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate across vendors,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license is required.
• 7+ years in electric utility/EPC environments doing engineering tasks and/or management for HV substation design.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review vendor documentation and coordinate with internal sourcing team.
• Support Proposal Team with BOM, technical concepts, and single-line diagrams.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on issues.
• Plan and perform design reviews; report technical risks to management.
• Review inspection and test plans; attend FAT for major equipment when required.
• Identify deviations; implement corrective actions with PM oversight.
• Answer technical site questions and review non-conformance reports from engineering perspective.
• Other duties as required.
