Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) seeks a Project Engineer - Substation to lead the design of high voltage substation projects and support EPC proposals. You will mentor a design team and collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafters across the QISG platform.

The role requires a strong engineering background, at least 5 years in electric utilities, and a solid grasp of NEC/NESC/IEEE standards. Travel up to 10-25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• P.E. license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering with a broad understanding of engineering principles.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI and other industry standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations.
• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Verify compliance with QISG and utility specifications and environmental/safety requirements.
• Oversee quality control procedures to maintain high workmanship and materials standards.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and engineering calculations.
