Job summary

QISG, part of Quanta Services, is seeking an Engineering Associate - Substation to lead high voltage substation design efforts. You will oversee the design team, review calculations, and support EPC proposals, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and project schedules.

The role requires a strong engineering background, 6+ years in HV substation projects, and the ability to travel as needed. Join a collaborative, safety-focused team delivering critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum of 6 years in electric utility industry performing detailed HV substation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.
• Experience with substation design components and layouts.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations.
• Ensure projects are on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Review projects to verify compliance with standards and environmental/safety requirements.
• Oversee quality control procedures to ensure workmanship and materials quality.
• Develop design drawings, calculations, and bills of material for planning and construction.
