Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer for its sub-transmission portfolio, focusing on 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers. This remote US role blends product management and sales duties, emphasizing SF6-free, digital-ready DTB solutions and broad market engagement.

You will report to the Product Marketing Director and work across global portfolios to shape go-to-market plans, drive customer value, and influence technical specs while supporting channel partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience with high voltage equipment, preferably circuit breakers or substation components.
• Deep understanding of US sub-transmission applications and utility processes.
• Proven experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
• Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for HV products.
• Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Market strategy & growth: drive US subtransmission market expansion and develop new opportunities.
• Technical leadership: lead configuration discussions, advanced feature evaluations, and presales solution design.
• Standards & industry influence: ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and represent ABB in industry bodies.
• Partnerships & product innovation: build ecosystem relationships and guide product evolution toward SF6-free tech.
