Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site from permit to closing across multiple homes, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires coordinating subcontractors, inspecting workmanship, scheduling tasks, controlling costs, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will conduct homeowner walks, monitor site cleanliness, and collaborate with sales, warranty and management teams to ensure open

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years related experience.
• Ability to manage and complete the “13 Milestones of Construction” specified in JDE.
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license; travel among communities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with DRH Construction applications on mobile devices and laptops.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand/walk for long periods; expose to outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction schedule and ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors and monitor workmanship for compliance with plans and codes.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy; satisfy contract obligations.
• Inspect subcontractors' work; halt noncompliant items.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after inspections.
• Guide the customer experience and coordinate homeowner communications.
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety across the community.
• Oversee post-close warranty process and coordinate with teams.
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management for open communication.
• Uphold professional and ethical standards; meet business needs with flexibility.
