Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site for home construction, from permit to closing, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Primary responsibilities include scheduling subcontractors, inspecting work, and ensuring compliance with building codes while delivering projects on time and within budget. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specs.
• Must have a vehicle, valid license, and willing to drive between communities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors for each construction phase and ensure workmanship meets codes and standards.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy per contract obligations.
• Inspect subcontractors’ work and halt nonconforming work.
• Authorize payment to subcontractors upon inspection and receipt of materials.
• Oversee the customer experience during the construction process and communicate progress to homeowners.
• Maintain site cleanliness and ensure safety and visual appeal of communities.
• Follow up after closing to address warranty requests and ensure quality.
