Job summary

CDM Smith’s New England Transportation team is seeking a Task Leader for highway design projects. The role can be based in Boston, MA, East Hartford, CT, or Manchester, NH, and involves leading design efforts, mentoring juniors, and delivering innovative transportation solutions.

The position focuses on project leadership, design development, and collaboration with clients to meet complex regulatory and technical requirements. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical advancement of highway design projects throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects to meet milestones and quality standards.
• Mentor, supervise and review junior engineers; provide technical guidance and growth opportunities.
• Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Technical Leaders and Project Managers to deliver high-Complexity projects tailored to client needs.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign and seal designs as required.
