Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design projects in the New England region. The role can be based in Boston, MA, East Hartford, CT, or Manchester, NH, with responsibilities spanning project leadership, design development, and client collaboration.

You will mentor junior staff, ensure technical accuracy, and manage scope, schedule, and budget while adhering to regulatory standards in a fast-paced transportation practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering required.
• PE license required; equivalent experience considered.
• 10 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical advancement of highway design projects from concept to final deliverables.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise project staff.
• Develop design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Leaders and Project Managers on high-complexity designs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign/seal designs as needed.
• Perform site reviews and support proposal responses to client RFPs.
