Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer for a remote role in the Defense Solutions Group. You will lead the design of 3U/6U VPX SBC, FPGA, switch, and IO cards for high-speed data processing and secure hardware solutions.

Strong leadership and hands-on DoD embedded experience are required. You will mentor engineers, drive hardware testing and qualification, and collaborate across engineering, PM, test and operations to meet demanding customer requirements in a distributed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years in DoD embedded hardware with SBC/FPGA/I/O card development.
• Experience with high-density interconnect PCBs and HDI.
• Proficient with Siemens Expedition tools.
• Ability to lead design from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of 3U and 6U VPX SBC, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards supporting high-speed data processing applications.
• Lead collaboration with engineering, project management, test, and operations teams in small, highly integrated, multidisciplinary teams to meet demanding customer requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into system architectures, functional designs, and hardware solutions.
• Evaluate technical feasibility and balance performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Act as a technical lead for hardware development activities, supporting project execution and design reviews.
• Lead hardware testing, qualification, and troubleshooting to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical procedures and engineering manuals.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical direction to support team development.
