Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to design and develop 3U/6U VPX SBC, FPGA, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing within the Defense Solutions Group.

The role requires DoD embedded hardware experience, handling mixed-signal and high-density PCB designs, and collaborating across engineering, management, and production teams to meet schedule-driven customer requirements. Active DoD security clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, project management, test, and operations teams in small, multidisciplinary groups to meet demanding requirements.
• Design and develop 3U and 6U VPX SBC, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing.
• Create and integrate custom form-factor systems with SBC, FPGA, switch, I/O cards, power, and thermal management.
• Translate system requirements into hardware designs addressing performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
• Perform hardware design analysis, troubleshooting, and evaluations through development lifecycles.
• Support hardware verification, qualification, and production activities with test plans and issue resolution.
• Apply engineering best practices to improve product performance and time-to-market.
• Develop and maintain technical procedures and engineering manuals.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
