Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer (Remote) to design and develop 3U/6U VPX SBCs, FPGA, switches, and I/O cards for defense applications in a secure, fast-paced environment.

The role requires DoD embedded systems experience, HDI PCB design, and Siemens Expedition tool expertise. US citizenship and security clearance preferred. Massachusetts-based remote opportunity with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in DoD embedded systems and hardware design.
Experience with high-density interconnect (HDI) PCB designs, multi-layer boards, blind/buried vias, and uVia structures preferred.
Experience with Siemens Expedition DX Designer (SCH) and Siemens Expedition PCB tools preferred.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results in a schedule-driven engineering environment.
US Citizenship required; active DoD security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering, project management, test, and operations teams in small, multidisciplinary teams to meet demanding, schedule-driven customer requirements.
Design and develop 3U and 6U VPX SBC, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing applications.
Design and develop custom form-factor systems with SBC, FPGA, switch, I/O cards, power supplies, and thermal management including LFT methods.
Translate system requirements into hardware designs and influence performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
Perform hardware design analysis, troubleshooting, and technical evaluations through the development lifecycle.
Support hardware verification, qualification, and production activities with test plans and issue resolution.
Apply engineering best practices to improve product performance, reliability, and time-to-market.
Develop and maintain technical procedures, design documentation, and engineering manuals.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
