Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, seeks a Business Development Manager to drive territory plans, agency partnerships, and growth across multiple states. This role collaborates with Underwriting and corporate resources to identify opportunities by industry and segment, and to monitor agency performance.

Must have at least five years in workers' compensation and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of five years of workers' compensation insurance industry experience, preferably in a Marketing or Underwriting role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute territory plans with clear travel strategies; align with regional resources.
• Position BHHC as the market of choice with agents and target markets; secure new agency appointments and meetings.
• Monitor agency growth and profitability; identify performance gaps and develop improvement plans.
• Manage agency partnerships to achieve premium targets; handle appointments, terminations, and renewal strategy discussions.
• Conduct in-person agency visits and participate in prospect meetings and stewardship activities.
