Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Western Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. You will design territory plans, recruit and manage agency partnerships, and collaborate with underwriting and marketing to expand profitable business.

The role requires strong industry knowledge, at least five years in workers' compensation, and a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum five years of workers' compensation insurance experience.
• Experience in marketing or underwriting preferred.
• Proficiency in agency relationship development and negotiation.
• Ability to read and interpret general business information and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute territory plans with travel to target markets.
• Position BHHC as the market of choice with agents and target markets.
• Monitor agency growth, profitability, and performance gaps.
• Manage agency partnerships to meet premium growth goals.
• Conduct in-person agency visits and prospect meetings.
• Educate agents on BHHC value proposition and service model.
• Participate in underwriting discussions and account strategy.
• Analyze competitor information and develop action plans.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting and IT to streamline processes.
• Maintain Producer Profiles, Agency Files and Bravo contacts.
