Job summary
Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC) is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Western Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. You will develop territory plans, recruit new agencies, and collaborate with Underwriting and Marketing to grow profitable book of business.
Minimum five years in workers' compensation insurance is required; a Bachelor's degree is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum five years of related experience in workers' compensation insurance.
- Experience in marketing or underwriting preferred.
- Ability to develop territory plans and drive profitable growth.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute territory plans aligned with regional goals.
- Position BHHC as the market of choice with agents and target markets.
- Monitor agency growth and profitability; drive improvement plans.
- Manage agency partnerships to meet minimum premium standards.
- Conduct in-person agency visits and prospect meetings.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting, and IT to streamline processes.
- Develop Producer Profiles and agency documentation.
- Maintain accurate agency performance reports and Bravo contacts.
