Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior System Protection Engineer to join our Grid Services team. The role focuses on system protection engineering—including relay settings, protection philosophies, and power system studies—while supporting substation protection and control design for high‑voltage transmission projects.

You will develop protection studies, configure relays, support commissioning, and coordinate with utility clients and equipment manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of system protection engineering experience for transmission/substation projects.
• Experience with relay settings, protection studies, and protection coordination tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform system protection studies including short-circuit analysis and relay coordination.
• Configure and troubleshoot microprocessor-based relays with vendor software (SEL, EnerVista, etc.).
• Develop P&C design documents including one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Support commissioning and field energization, and respond to field questions.
