Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Lead System Protection Engineer to join our Grid Services team. You will lead protection philosophies, relay settings, and studies for transmission and substation projects, while reviewing P&C designs.

Responsibilities include fault studies, relay coordination, Powerbase data management, and field commissioning support. Hybrid work with relocation benefits for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited EE degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years in system protection engineering for transmission/substation.
• Experience with CAPE/ASPEN protection analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection philosophies and settings for lines, transformers, buses, and banks.
• Perform short‑circuit, relay coordination, and time‑current studies.
• Configure and troubleshoot microprocessor relays with vendor software.
• Support P&C design documents and field commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE/ANSI/NERC standards and client practices.
