Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior System Protection Engineer to join our Grid Services team. The role focuses on relay settings, protection philosophies, and power system studies, with secondary support for substation protection & control design.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement—three days in the office and two days remote—and a generous relocation package based on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 7+ years of system protection engineering experience for transmission/substation projects.
• Hands-on responsibility for relay settings and protection studies.
• Experience with CAPE/ASPEN or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection philosophy development and relay settings for transmission lines and substations.
• Perform short‑circuit analysis and relay coordination studies.
• Review P&C design documents and ensure compliance with standards.
• Support commissioning, field energization, and issue resolution during construction.
