ABB seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead the expansion of the Grid Automation portfolio across the U.S. market. The role focuses on engaging utilities and partners, shaping market strategies, and driving solution development with cross-functional teams.

The position is remote with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX, reporting to Product Marketing Director and collaborating with Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
9+ years in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
Deep understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models in energy sector.

Responsibilities

Lead U.S. market growth for ABB's Grid Automation portfolio.
Act as grid automation SME; lead presales activities and solution design.
Contribute to vPAC and IEEE working groups; shape interoperability frameworks.
Build strategic partnerships and represent ABB at industry forums.
