Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Geostructural Design Engineer to lead design services for retaining walls, ground improvement, excavation support, slope stabilization, and deep foundations.

You will collaborate across disciplines, interact with clients, and own project outcomes. The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in geotechnical/geostructural work, PE licensure, and strong knowledge of design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree with geotechnical/structural emphasis preferred
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• 8 to 12 years in geotechnical, structural, or geostructural engineering with increasing responsibility
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety (or ability to obtain); preferred training in construction inspection, slope stability, or deep foundation testing

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior staff on technical execution, design software, and field practices, providing constructive feedback to strengthen technical skills and engineering judgment
• Support onboarding, training, and integration of new team members
• Help build a geographically distributed, high-performing team through clear communication and shared technical standards
• Act as a technical lead on projects, guiding staff and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead QA/QC reviews of design calculations, drawings, and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Develop and enforce design standards and checklists for Geostructural work
• Coordinate project tasks, milestones, and deliverables with stakeholders
• Assist with estimating level of effort for scopes of work and proposals
• Identify risks and mitigation measures for planning and design phases
• Ensure designs meet building codes, DOT requirements, and project specs
