Job summary

Sonic Drive-In in Grain Valley, Missouri seeks a General Manager/Operating Partner to lead daily operations and mentor staff. This exempt role drives guest satisfaction, controls costs, schedules teams, and ensures compliance with brand standards.

You will recruit and develop talent, manage opening/closing, handle guest and employee concerns, and coordinate local marketing while maintaining records and equipment standards. Expect 50+ hours and a hands-on leadership approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies preferred.
• At least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing staff.
• Knowledge of labor laws and safety regulations.
• Basic math, accounting, and reporting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication; problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and manage staff.
• Oversee compensation in line with company guidelines.
• Direct all drive-in operations to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Manage opening/closing duties and daily paperwork.
• Address guest and employee concerns promptly.
• Forecast and control food, labor, and inventory costs.
• Lead team meetings and uphold standards.
• Maintain records and operational reports.
• Develop and manage local marketing and performance plans.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and vendor performance.
• Ensure policy and legal compliance; maintain attendance.
