Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a General Manager II to oversee a QSR or Casual Dine restaurant or a small cluster of units near each other. The GMII ensures operations run smoothly, staff are engaged, and the unit meets high standards of service and profitability.

The role requires deep restaurant leadership, payroll, scheduling, hiring decisions, and adherence to brand standards, with on-site responsibilities and a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• GMIIs must have documented, demonstrated skills managing multiple restaurant types (QSR, Casual Dine, Full Service) and take overall responsibility for success via P&L performance.
• Experience in operating different restaurant formats (QSR, casual dining, full service) and driving financial results.
• Strong leadership and staffing capabilities, including coaching and development of staff.
• Ability to read, interpret, and act on financial and operational data to meet unit goals.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the restaurant and ensure opening/closing checklists are completed.
• Deploy staff to maximize profitability and manage shifts and schedules.
• Interview candidates and make hiring/firing decisions; promote HMSHost as an employer of choice.
• Oversee onboarding, badging, and staff training to ensure compliance.
• Monitor financial and operational data to drive performance and implement improvement plans.
