Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support transportation initiatives and forecast/variance analysis within a fast-paced finance team.

You will build board-ready materials, collaborate with the Transportation and FP&A teams, and help drive profitability across the organization. The role reports to the FP&A Manager and requires strong financial modeling, stakeholder communication, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in FP&A or a related field.
• 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholders.
• High proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with NetSuite/BI tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate drivers and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly performance related to Transportation and provide a timely outlook on ship costs and margin.
• Manage relationships with Transportation to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support development of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with the Transportation team and translate to the budget.
• Create monthly/quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board.
• Provide insights on operational metrics, margin analysis, and partner communications.
• Develop and improve financial models and procedures, using company objectives.
