Job summary

Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in Austin seeks a skilled FMLA & Special Leave Coordinator to join the Human Resources division. You will ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and state regulations, maintain records, and support agency leave programs while coordinating with payroll and benefits.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree and HR experience; preferred candidates have experience with USPS and CAPPS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in an HR-related field, including experience working with the Family Medical Leave Act.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance and state/federal leave regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and reviews requests to determine eligibility for FMLA leave and ensures compliance.
• Interprets FMLA rules for staff and communicates status of requests.
• Creates and maintains FMLA records in CAPPS; runs CAPPS reports for balances.
• Works with Payroll and Employee Benefits to coordinate leave with benefits.
• Reviews and guides special leave programs and LWOP submissions; assists in policy development.
