Job summary

Compass Connections is seeking an experienced Leave of Absence Administrator to oversee the comprehensive administration, tracking, and compliance of the organization’s leave programs. The role provides high-touch support and clear communication to employees throughout their leave lifecycle while coordinating with vendors, legal counsel, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of verifiable experience, a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, and strong knowledge of FMLA,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• Certified Leave Management Specialist preferred but not required.
• Three (3) or more years’ verifiable experience.
• Regulatory knowledge of FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, HIPAA, USERRA.

Responsibilities

• Primary Case Management: central point of contact for leave cases in accordance with laws and policies.
• System Administration: manage day-to-day leave processes in the HRIS system.
• Regulatory Compliance: audit and ensure leaves adhere to state and federal laws.
• Documentation: generate legal leave docs and ensure notices are distributed timely.
• Stakeholder Communication: keep benefits team and managers updated on leave statuses.
• Reporting & Auditing: track daily leave reports and compliance with laws.
• Workers' Compensation Processing: manage claims from ingestion to closure.
• Vendor Management: oversee relationships with third-party administrators and vendors.
• Return-to-Work Coordination: coordinate fitness-for-duty and accommodations.
• Payroll Integration: coordinate leave pay with payroll and benefits.
• Record Retention: maintain confidential medical files and track entitlements.
• Process Optimization: improve leave policies and systems.
• Training & Onboarding: deliver training on leave protocols.
