Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join the North America Fire Protection Engineering Team in Seattle. You will work on large, complex projects, lead teams through all lifecycle stages, and ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with client goals.

You will apply knowledge of Building codes, NFPA standards, and fire protection design to develop scope, budgets, and design approaches while mentoring staff and engaging in business development activities.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in fire protection engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or NICET Level IV certification.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and NFPA standards; ability to lead complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects in fire protection engineering.
• Conduct building, fire, and life-safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
• Supervise staff, mentor junior engineers, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Support business development and proposals; manage multiple projects concurrently.
