Job summary

Stantec in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead large, high-complexity projects within our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You’ll guide design development, supervise staff, and ensure on-time delivery with client satisfaction, applying NFPA standards, UFC familiarity, and robust writing and presentation skills.

Applicants should have a PE license, a bachelor in Fire Protection Eng, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD; CFD

Qualifications

Knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards.
Familiarity with UFC preferred.
Experience with fire suppression and fire alarm systems design and commissioning.
Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD.
CFD modeling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead large projects of high complexity.
Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
Engage in design development through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other formats.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
Participate in client meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
Provide direct supervision to assigned staff; develop staff skills and abilities by providing guidance and mentoring to strengthen technical abilities.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the fire engineering group.
Develop project scope, budget, and design approach for projects of various sizes and complexities.
Assist with Business Development activities, including proposal development, presentations, etc.
Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects.
