Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join its North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will lead large, complex projects, supervise staff, and ensure on-time delivery with high-quality design and documentation.

Responsibilities include code reviews, fire suppression/alarm design, and client meetings. Requires P.E., 10+ years, and strong leadership in a multidisciplinary firm.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards; UFC familiarity preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm systems (design and commissioning).
• Ability to manage time, budgets, and multiple projects across teams.
• Proficient in documentation, reports, and client presentations.
• Experience with CFD tools (FDS/ASCOS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex fire protection projects from concept to delivery.
• Conduct code reviews and fire/life safety analyses for buildings.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
• Guide design development through sketches, models, and diagrams.
• Supervise staff and mentor junior engineers; ensure QA/QC across projects.
• Support business development including proposals and presentations.
