Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will lead large, complex projects, mentor staff, and strengthen the fire engineering group with up-to-date design tools and best practices.

The role requires a P.E., 10+ years of experience, strong NFPA/code knowledge, and proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; CFD tools are advantageous. Excellent communication and client engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Masters in Fire Protection preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the fire protection engineering examination.

Responsibilities

• Lead large projects of high complexity.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development through sketches, models, diagrams.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal/external stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings and cost estimating.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff.
• Perform QA/QC on own and peers' projects.
• Assist in developing new fire engineering standards and specs.
• Develop project scope, budget, and design approach.
• Support business development activities and proposals.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects.
