Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join the North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will lead large, high-complexity projects and guide a team through all project phases while advancing fire engineering standards and innovative design tools.

You will develop project scopes, budgets, and design approaches, participate in business development, and ensure on-time delivery with client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Masters in Fire Protection preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the fire protection engineering examination.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for large projects of high complexity.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other formats.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Provide direct supervision to assigned staff; mentor to strengthen technical abilities.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
• Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the fire engineering group.
• Develop project scope, budget, and design approach for varying sizes.
• Assist with Business Development activities and proposals.
• Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects.
