Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join the North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will work independently on large, complex projects and lead a team through all phases of a project lifecycle, building a capable group with up-to-date tools and processes for client satisfaction and on-time delivery.

You will develop designs, perform code reviews, prepare technical reports, mentor staff, and support business development while ensuring quality and safety standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field; P.E. license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) with fire protection exam.

Responsibilities

• Handle large, high-complexity projects independently.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Develop designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other formats.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Provide direct supervision and mentorship to staff to strengthen technical abilities.
• Conduct QA/QC on own projects and peers’ projects.
• Contribute to development of new standards and specifications for the fire group.
• Define project scope, budget, and design approach for varying sizes.
• Assist with business development, including proposals and presentations.
• Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects.
