Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead large, complex projects for North America, guiding a team through all project phases and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include code reviews, technical reporting, design development, client meetings, and staff mentoring; PE license and QFPE preferred. This role is based in multiple US offices, with potential for varied project assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline; PE license required or in process.
• Masters in Fire Protection preferred but not required; QFPE is desirable.
• Experience with building codes, NFPA standards, and fire protection design review.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex projects on Federal/state programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
• Develop design concepts through sketches, models, and diagrams.
• Supervise staff, mentor junior engineers, and ensure quality control.
• Support business development, including proposals and client meetings.
• Oversee multiple projects and manage budgets and schedules.
