Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will independently handle large, complex projects and lead teams through all project phases, ensuring high-quality fire protection design and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience, strong knowledge of NFPA standards, and PE licensure. The role involves collaboration across offices, design tools, and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Requires Building codes knowledge and NFPA standards familiarity.
• Experience with fire suppression and fire alarm systems design and commissioning preferred.
• Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead large projects of high complexity and coordinate with internal/external teams.
• Conduct code reviews and fire protection analyses for projects.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Lead design development through sketches, models, diagrams, etc.
• Oversee project coordination meetings with owners, consultants, and vendors.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to cost estimating.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff to build capabilities.
• Ensure quality assurance on own and peers' projects.
• Develop new standards and specs for the fire group.
• Define project scope, budget, and design approach.
• Support business development and proposal activities.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects.
