Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will lead complex projects, perform code reviews, and mentor staff while developing innovative fire protection solutions.

Responsibilities include design development, client meetings, and contribution to standards. Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, CFD tools, and Revit/AutoCAD is required. Registered PE preferred with 10+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of Building codes and NFPA standards.
• Familiarity with UFC preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm systems, design and commissioning.
• Ability to review work for accuracy and manage project time/budget.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex projects or teams through all project phases.
• Conduct fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development with sketches and models.
• Lead project coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
• Mentor staff and develop technical capabilities.
• Ensure quality assurance on own and peers' projects.
• Contribute to development of new standards and specs.
