Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join the North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. The role focuses on leading large, complex projects, conducting code reviews, and guiding a team through all project phases.
You will drive design development, produce technical reports, and support business development efforts while ensuring client satisfaction and on-time delivery. The position requires a PE certification and 10+ years of experience with a strong foundation in fire
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Masters in Fire Protection preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Handle large, complex projects independently.
- Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
- Engage in design development through sketches, models, diagrams.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal/external stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings and cost estimating.
- Supervise staff and mentor to strengthen technical abilities.
- Quality assurance and control on projects.
- Contribute to development of new standards and specs for fire engineering.
- Develop project scope, budget, and design approach for various sizes.
- Assist with business development and proposals.
