Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a senior Field Technician III to conduct advanced field testing and inspections across construction, environmental, and infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior technicians, lead field activities, and ensure regulatory compliance while traveling to multiple job sites.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of field experience, OSHA knowledge, and strong data analysis skills to support project teams and safety-driven operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related coursework preferred.
• 5+ years of field-based materials testing or inspection experience.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing is preferred or obtainable.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Proficiency with MS Office and field data tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical docs.
• Strong leadership, problem solving, and mentoring ability.
• Excellent time management and detail orientation.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and guiding fieldwork.
• Willingness to travel ~50–70% domestically.
• FDC software and related field testing tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and environmental conditions while ensuring regulatory and project compliance.
• Lead field activities on assigned projects, coordinating operations and maintaining safety standards.
• Analyze test results, identify risks, and provide recommendations to project teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians in testing procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and contractors to troubleshoot field challenges.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Document work accurately and communicate site observations to dispatch and supervisors.
• Travel to project sites as required and adhere to safety protocols.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Vocational training/Associate in Construction or Geology

5+ years field testing experience

ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing (certification)

Valid driver's license

OSHA knowledge

MS Office Suite

Blueprint reading
