Job summary

UES, Inc. seeks a Field Technician II to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. You will perform advanced field and laboratory testing, conduct on-site inspections, and ensure projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or related.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA regulations; proficiency in MS Office and FDC software.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specs.
• Ensure testing requirements are met and compliant with project specs, requirements, and company policies.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for analysis, maintaining sample integrity.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper functioning per guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results with timely submission.
• Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers with real-time updates.
• Mentor and support junior field technicians on procedures, testing methods, and safety.
• Follow OSHA, company, and client safety protocols, including PPE usage.
• Adapt to changing project requirements, including early mornings, weekends, or overnight work.
• Travel to job sites within the designated region; overnight stays may be required.
