Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. The role involves on-site inspections, sample collection, and lab testing to ensure construction and environmental work meets standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working outdoors, with frequent travel to job sites and opportunities for growth and technical training within a dynamic industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification or ability to obtain within a set period.
• Commitment to workplace safety, OSHA standards and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and lab testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates to verify specs and compliance.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing.
• Ensure testing requirements align with project specifications and company policies.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results.
• Maintain testing equipment per manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
• Document test results, site conditions, and observations; prepare timely reports.
• Communicate updates with dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers.
• Adhere to project timelines and adapt to changing schedules/weather.
• Travel up to 70% to support job sites and field locations.
• Participate in training and certification programs to maintain proficiency.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations; use PPE properly.
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle and keep it clean.
