Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician II to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspections. The role involves advanced field and lab testing, on-site inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will work in dynamic outdoor environments and may mentor junior technicians to boost team performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing or construction inspection.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories maintaining sample integrity.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports and documentation of test results for project managers and stakeholders.
• Communicate updates on job status, site conditions, and any issues to supervision and field teams.
• Mentor junior field technicians and reinforce safety best practices.
• Follow OSHA, company, and client safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Adapt to variable schedules including early mornings, weekends, or overnight work.
