Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Florida (Lakeland region) is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a multi-million dollar project. This on-site role requires hands-on leadership to drive safety, schedule, quality, and cost performance daily on a $5–$50M assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 7–12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project valued at $30M+ on commercial/industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Develops and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtains permits for construction as needed.
• Establishes credibility with owners, contractors, unions and partners.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance.
• Leads contractor meetings regularly.
• Maintains daily reports and documentation using software tools.
• Creates, manages and updates project schedule with contingency plans.
• Communicates schedule status and changes to team and trades.
• Plans, coordinates and manages jobsite logistics.
• Develops the QIC plan with Operations Excellence team and implements changes.
• Coordinates with Site Services/Next 150 to order materials and schedule crew.
• Trains direct reports on project needs and construction knowledge.
• Reviews scopes of work and participates in buyout.
• Assists in Time and Materials tracking.
• Leads daily huddles and pre-task plan reviews.
• Assists in financial forecasting.
• Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.

Education
