Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a $5–$50M project. This on-site role requires daily presence on the job site and leadership of trade contractors to meet the project schedule and safety standards.

The candidate will develop work plans, maintain progress reports, and coordinate with the project team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7–12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project for a value of $30 million or larger on commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to ensure high-quality work and schedule adherence.
• Develops and communicates work plans for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtains permits for construction as needed.
• Maintain daily reports and project documentation.
• Lead contractor meetings and manage schedule updates.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage jobsite logistics.
• Mentor direct reports on project needs and processes.
• Support business development and client relationships.
