Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a $5-$50M project. This on-site role will be on the job site daily and serve a key position on the project team in Arlington, VA.

You will oversee safety, scheduling, coordination of trade contractors, and quality control, while leading meetings and mentoring field staff. A strong background in mechanical and commercial construction is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project for a value of $30 million or larger on commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Develops and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Maintains contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtains necessary permits for construction.
• Leads contractor meetings and safety enforcement.
• Manages project schedule and logistics.
• Trains direct reports on project needs and processes.
• Participates in buyout and time & materials tracking.
