Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Lead Superintendent for a prominent project in Los Angeles. You will independently manage all field operations on a $5-$50M project and be on-site daily, directing trades and ensuring the schedule is met.

You will build a robust safety culture, coordinate with the project team, and apply strong leadership, problem-solving, and communications skills to deliver on-time results. Gilbane University offers ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project for a $30M+ value on commercial/industrial construction.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day coordination of Gilbane's trade contractors and their sub-contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtains permits for construction by subcontractors.
• Establishes credibility with owners, trade contractors, unions, and partners.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports and documentation.
• Creates and updates the project schedule; implements contingency plans.
